Reimagining Interdependence

The Reimaging Interdependence conference was initially planned to be a hybrid conference (onsite in Bhutan, online over the internet), November 4-5, 2022. However, we have, after much consideration, decided to reschedule the conference to April 14-15, 2023. 

We will have the website up for the rescheduled conference on September 1, 2022.

The reasoning behind this decision is that the Bhutanese authorities, this summer, have initiated a significant reform of the setup for visas and rules for organizing travels in Bhutan. The reform is part of a long-term wish to reform and simplify traveling in Bhutan and emphasize the importance of sustainability (by introducing new sustainability fees). 

Unfortunately, as this conference was announced before these new rules were introduced, this also means that the conditions for the onsite part of the conference had changed. Therefore, it will not be possible to adjust to the new rules before November 4-5, and we cannot arrange the onsite part of the conference in November.

As a part of the FECUN concept (see www.fecun.net), we can change the format of a given conference from a hybrid format, onsite/online, to a virtual format, online only (a lesson learned during the COVID Pan-epidemic), and that certainly could be one way to go. 

However, several participants have expressed considerable interest in participating onsite in Bhutan, so we have rescheduled the conference to April 14-15, 2023. We thereby hope to have a clearer picture of the new travel and visa rules and that we can have a hybrid conference onsite/online conference.

We readjust the conference webpage according to the new situation. It will be up again on September 1, with a second version of the CfP. Participants, who have already registered and/or submitted an abstract, will receive information contacted regarding the further process concerning registration and reviews of abstracts.
